Het is weer een prachtige editie geworden, ook al word je van veel foto\u2019s niet echt vrolijk. De winnaar dit jaar is een foto van John Moore. Daar staat ze dan, een moeder en haar ontredderde peuter, te arm om schoenveters te kunnen kopen, en niet rijk genoeg om niet als een crimineel behandeld te worden. Een foto als een spiegel van tot wat onze moderne maatschappijen verworden zijn.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Evenwel is dat niet de foto die ik zou gekozen hebben. Mijn hart ging sneller slaan bij onderstaande foto van Brent Stirton. Het is een foto van een <em>wildlife ranger<\/em> in Zimbabwe die ingezet wordt in de strijd tegen de illegale stroperij. Zij behoort tot de Akashinga: <em>The Brave Ones<\/em>.
