Vandaag is het internationale vrouwendag. De diplomatie is duidelijk ook aan het vervrouwelijken. In de foto de ambassadeurs en hoofden van de internationale instellingen in Tanzania. Het aantal vrouwen kan je al niet meer op \u00e9\u00e9n hand tellen, wat niet wegneemt dat er nog een lange weg te gaan is.<\/p>\n<p>Maar over hoe die weg moet afgelegd worden, verschillen de inzichten. De voorzitter van de heersende partij in Tanzania zegt hierover het volgende: \u201c<em>women are a key group that must first be emancipated economically and in other social aspects of life. The politics will naturally follow<\/em>.\u201d Lijkt me vooral een excuus om beleidsmatig niet te veel te doen rond emancipatie in Tanzania, niet?<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Maar bij het ontbreken van politieke wil zijn er nog andere zaken die we kunnen doen. Zo hebben Belgi\u00eb, Nederland en Frankrijk samen de musical Jasiri ondersteund alhier. Dit spektakel gaat over de aspiraties van een jonge vrouw, de hindernissen op haar pad, en de uiteindelijke ontvoogding. Misschien doen dergelijke culturele evenementen op termijn nog wel meer dan alle ronkende politieke verklaringen over dit onderwerp.<\/p>\n<p>Wat denk je? Verdient emancipatie nog meer aandacht?
